Hollého Street The House of Matica Slovenská is situated there, in which various exhibitions and lectures are being held and the Centre for Slovaks Living Abroad has its seat therein.
	Hurbanova Street Dominated by the Church of St. Barbora and the Franciscans Monastery where organ concerts are being held.
The Rosenfeld Palace was to have been a reduced imitation of the Belveder Vienna Castle. The Spektrum, a centre of leisure time, has its seat there.
	The Synagogue was built in 1931 at the place of an old synagogue dated 1860. Actually, it is the Centrum cinema.
Kálov Street The House of Artisans was built at Kálov in 1907. In frontispiece of this secession building, there is a statue of Gábor Baross, Hungarian minister of public works and transport.
	Legionárska Street The Czechoslovak Commercial Bank in neo-classical style was built for purposes of a branch of the Austro-Hungarian bank. During the period from 20/09 till 06/10/1938, the Czech Crown Jewels were secretly concealed there.
The University of Žilina In 1960, the University of Transport in Prague (nowadays the University of Žilina) moved to the current seat.
	Andrej Hlinka Square A statue of Andrej Hlinka and a fountain, created by Jozef Haščík, are located there. Various cultural and other interesting events are being regularly held in the square.
The Považie Art Gallery In the Andrej Hlinka Square, the one-floor secession building, built in 1911, is the most significant historical and cultural monument.
	General M. R. Štefánik Square The square dominant is represented by a bronze bust sculpture of Milan Rastislav Štefánik (1880-1919), an important Slovak politician, scientist and General of the French army.
Ľudovít Štúr Square The Square is named after Ľudovít Štúr, the author of the Slovak language codification and national revivalist. In 1981, the hotel Slovakia, the biggest and most modern hotel in Žilina then, was open in the Ľudovít Štúr Square.
	The Trade Union House of Culture There is a show hall, a big scene that serves also as a cinema room, small scene and club rooms.
The “Námestie obetí komunizmu” Square Beyond the border of the City Monument Reserve, in the “Námestie obetí komunizmu” Square, there is a building of the Municipal Office, built in 1988, based on the projects of Ing. arch. Viera Mecková from Žilina.
	Národná Street Národná Street was developed in late 19th century and in the early 20th century as a joining point of Košice-Bohumín Railway with the town. In 1970, the transport was shut out from the street and thus the first pedestrian zone in Žilina was established.
Rázusova Street The Evangelical Church. The principal aisle serves for ecclesiastical ceremonies, the accessory aisle, separated by glasses, is an assembly hall. En face of the church, there is a principal cemetery of Žilina.
	The “Sad SNP” Park /Park of Slovak National Uprising/ During the years 1902-1908, the oldest park in Žilina was established, named Millennium Park. In the Park, there is a music garden house and a fountain with a sculptural group created by Vladimír Kompánek.
